The scenic view on the Thomas Jefferson Parkway got a brand new addition Friday.
As part of their 100 year celebration, the Bartlett Tree Experts planted a Willow Oak tree along the parkway.
For the centennial the company is planting 100 trees in 100 days across the United States, Canada, England and Ireland.
They say planting the oak tree is a way to give back to the community while remember the tradition of Thomas Jefferson.
"We selected it because we know it grows well in the area, as a sideline it was one of Thomas Jefferson's favorite trees so it worked out really well," said Bart McDowell, of Bartlett Tree Experts.
