This weekend some local walkers are putting on those running shoes to help fight multiple sclerosis.
MS is a neurological disease that stops people from moving. Almost three dozen walkers from Charlottesville have raised money and trained for the walk.
The Chesapeake Bay Challenge Walk is a two day event taking walkers a total of 30 miles.
Each of the 35 people participating along with all other walkers raised $1,500 each.
"We're probably not going to solve MS with one big bust, it will probably be little steps along the way," said MS Society Chapter President Fay Painter.
More than 400,000 people have multiple sclerosis, and 3,000 of those people live in our area.
