American Idol Tour Comes To Charlottesville

September 16, 2007

Thousands will pack the John Paul Jones Arena Sunday night to get an up close and personal look at some of their favorite reality TV stars.

The American Idols tour has parked it here in Charlottesville for the night for a concert.

Die hard fans were out in line about two-and-a-half hours before the show and we spoke with the very first people in line, pretty much a representative sample of the fans coming out Sunday night. Everyone had their own favorite idol and their favorite idol moment.

"I really wanna see Melinda and Jordin," said one fan.

"Blake and Chris Richardson because they're hot and they're like the best singers too," said another fan.

Lots of folks have come out to support Chris Richardson, he is after all from just down the road in Chesapeake.

The concert is sponsored by Pop Tarts, they even had the Oscar Meyer Wiener-Mobile out at JPJ, so this really is big time.

The final ten that everyone has turned out to see Sunday are Chris Sligh, Gina Glocksen, Haley Scarnato, of course Sanjaya Malakar, Chris Richardson, Phil Stacey, Lakisha Jones, Melinda Doolittle, runner-up Blake Lewis and the newest American Idol, Jordin Sparks.

As the top ten perform here in Charlottesville, Simon, Paula and Randy will be out in Los Angeles, hoping the show's Emmy nomination turns into an Emmy victory.
