A new website launched Monday allowing users to download music and videos for a price not many will argue with, how about free of charge.

That's what the website spiralfrog.com has set out to do and here's how it works.

The website is ad supported allowing users to download music and videos free of charge. The site has made a deal to pay record companies part of the amount they make from advertisements.

The hope is to lure music fans away from sites that let you download music illegally but there will be some limits. Users have to use the site once a month or the songs they download will stop working.

And downloads cannot be burned to a CD but they can be transferred to some digital music players, however, Apple's Ipod is not a part of that list.

At the time of its launch spiral frog was offering more than 800,000 tracks and over 3,500 music videos.
