Salad Possibly Sold In Virginia Being Recalled

September 18, 2007

Dole Food Company is recalling some bagged salad that may have been sold in parts of Virginia.

The company is recalling the salad after a sample tested positive for E.Coli but so far the company says that they have not received any reports of illness.

The voluntary recall is in effect for packages of Dole's Hearts Delight salad mix sold in the United States and Canada. The packages in question have a "best if used by" date of September 19, 2007, and a production code of "A24924A" or "A24924B."

A company spokesman says the romaine, green leaf and butter lettuce hearts in the blend were grown in California, Colorado and Ohio. They were processed at a Dole's plant in Ohio.
