Ellen DeGeneres is ending her one-year run as a judge on the popular show American Idol seen on WAHU Fox 27.
Fox issued a statement to its affiliates and the media saying DeGeneres "has decided to bow out from her role as a judge on 'American Idol' next season."
Peter Rice, chairman of entertainment at Fox Networks Group, said, "We love Ellen and understand and support her decision to bow out of 'Idol'."
DeGeneres never seemed comfortable in her role and noted it wasn't easy for her to be critical of the performers.
Also leaving the show is longtime judge Simon Cowell.

Everyone loves Ellen but as she said, "what do I know". It was painfully obvious that she felt uncomfortable judging. BTW if anyone is listening, consider Harry Conic Junior (sp.?) He gave the best advice to the contentants when he was on the show, he can really sing, he is very confident, he is cute, he is witty and concise, funny, spontaneous and an excellent replacement for Simon.
