Mike Comer, the man who embezzled funds from the Glenmore Community Association, was sentenced Tuesday evening in Albemarle County Circuit Court.

Comer was sentenced to fifteen years for money laundering and embezzlement. All but one year and six months were suspended, and with four months already served, Comer will spend the next 14 months behind bars.

Judge Higgins said Tuesday that she decided to suspend most of the sentence because Comer has already paid money he stole from the GCA.

Comer pleaded guilty back in April to embezzling $465,000 from the GCA while he served as the association's former treasurer.

Comer disappeared in July of 2009, but turned himself in days later. Comer had once faced up to 120 years in prison.
