Virginians who choose to cast an absentee ballot by mail for the March 6 Republican Presidential Primary must submit their application by next Tuesday.
Completed applications can be submitted in-person, by mail, fax, or scanned email attachment to the voter’s local general registrar’s office until 5 p.m. (EST) on Feb. 28.
In order to vote absentee, voters must meet one of the 18 eligibility requirements listed on the Virginia Absentee Ballot Application. Eligible voters may cast their absentee ballot by mail or in-person at their local registrar’s office.
Voters who wish to vote absentee in-person may do so at their local general registrar’s office during normal business hours. The deadline to vote absentee in person is Saturday, Mar. 3 and registration offices will be open to the public on this day.
Certain first time voters cannot vote absentee by mail. Please contact the local general registrar for specific office hours or to verify eligibility to vote absentee.
