Accreditation Review Team at UVa

Sept. 16, 2013

An accreditation review team is at the University of Virginia this week, looking into governance issues after the Board of Visitors' failed attempt to oust President Teresa Sullivan last year.

Representatives from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools will be in Charlottesville through Wednesday. They want to see if issues have been resolved.

The association put UVa on warning in December. It concluded that a minority of board members attempted to oust Sullivan, and said faculty leaders weren't consulted or alerted to the decision.
