The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors will meet Wednesday to interview the ten candidates vying for a temporary position on the board.
The Scottsville district seat on the board has been empty since Christopher Dumler resigned his position last month.
Each candidate will be given five minutes to say why they think they should be chosen, and then they will answer questions from board members.
Albemarle County Communications Manager Lee Catlin says Scottsville residents are ready to move forward.
"What we've mostly heard from this point is people being relieved that it looks like we're at a resolution, and that things are moving forward, and that there's a transparent process in place that will allow them to understand who's going to be their next supervisor, how is that going to happen, and how's the full board going to continue moving forward."
The board will go into a closed session after interviewing the candidates. They don't plan to make an appointment until their next meeting, on July 10.
