Albemarle Co. Fire Dept. Teach How to Create Safety Plan

Sept. 9, 2013

Albemarle County Fire officials held a class on Monday, teaching people how to create a home escape plan.

Officials say it's important to have at least two ways to get out of the house in an emergency. You should also have a meeting place outside your home, like a tree or a mailbox.

They also say it is important to practice your escape plan once a month, just like checking your smoke detectors.
