March 30, 2013

Albemarle County Police say 61-year-old William Critzer of Troy died Saturday after he was pinned by a piece of logging equipment.

Albemarle County Police responded to the scene on Wolf Trap Road around shortly after 11:30 a.m. when the call was received.

According to neighbors' accounts, a man was working in the woods on his property and stepped off the equipment. The machine rolled back and pinned him.

Neighbors heard the incident and called 911, but the man died shortly after.

Foul play does not appear to be a factor.
