The Albemarle County Police Department is investigating a rash of car break ins.
Officials say at least 30 unlocked cars were entered overnight in the Fontana, Pavilions at Pantops and Forest Lakes North neighborhoods.
Vehicles in the Key West, Franklin, Mill Creek, Foxcroft and Lake Reynovia neighborhoods were reportedly broken into on Sunday and Monday nights.
All of the cars targeted were unlocked.
Police Public Information Officer Carter Johnson says the department is tracking this trend, and patrol officers are working on a plan of action to address the issue.
Authorities encourage residents to report any suspicious activities they see, and remember to keep vehicles locked.
