The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors held its second of three work sessions today on the proposed 2015 budget.
On Friday, the board focused on the financing for each of the county's departments and administration.
They looked at the budgetary needs and how they fit into the proposed budget.
The proposal includes a tax rate increase, the first since 2009, which is something supervisors are closely analyzing.
"We're still working with the budget our county executive proposed, and that did include a 1.7 percent increase," Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Jane Dittmar said. "By the time we get to our budget, we will decide if we don't put that in there, we put that in there, or we add to it. So it's all in the air right now while we work through things."
The third and final work session will be on Monday, March 3, and will focus on funding for the county's schools.
