Albemarle Police Officer Involved in Car Crash

An Albemarle County Police Officer was involved in an early morning crash on Thursday.

Police say the officer was responding for a call to back up in an unmarked car with lights and sirens activated and collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Commonwealth and Greenbrier Drives.

Two people were sent to the hospital because of the crash.

No charges have been filed as of yet, the wreck is still under investigation.
