Allegiant Announces End of Service from Charlottesville

One of the newest airlines to fly out of Charlottesville is announcing the end of its service in this area.

As of February 23rd, Allegiant Air says they will no long fly out of the Charlottesville Albemarle Airport (CHO).

"We are always disappointed to end service in a market," said Eric Fletcher, Allegiant Travel Co. Manager of Airports. "We thank Charlottesville Albemarle Airport for their partnership and apologize to any travelers who are inconvenienced by this decision."

No specific reason has been given for the cancellation of service.

Allegiant only began service from CHO on November 21st of last year.

Customers with reservations after Feb. 23rd will be contacted by Allegiant for a full refund.
