Annual Phi Delta Kappa Honors Announced

April 16, 2012

Phi Delta Kappa Chapter 26 in Charlottesville has announced the recipients of 2012 PDK awards. Two Charlottesville, two Albemarle County and one Fluvanna County educator were among those honored.

The winners are:

- Outstanding Elementary Teacher- Abigail Kayser, Burnley-Moran Elementary School, Charlottesville City Schools

- Outstanding Secondary Teacher – Peter Henning, Jackson P. Burley Middle School, Albemarle County Public Schools

- Outstanding First Year Teacher – Lauren Truslow, Jackson P. Burley Middle School, Albemarle County Public Schools

- Sylvia Henderson Early Childhood Educational Leadership Award – Ann Dublirer, Charlottesville City Schools

- Alton L. Taylor Leadership Award - Sue Davies, Principal, Fluvanna County Public Schools

The recipients will be honored at the PDK Annual Dinner at the Greencroft Club at 6:30 p.m. on May 9.
