Another Democrat has entered the race for Charlottesville Commissioner of Revenue.
Tuesday, Todd Divers announced his plans to run at City Hall.
He is a UVa. graduate who has lived in Charlottesville for 22 years, and has worked as a middle school teacher.
Divers says he will work to help small businesses in the city.
"Make it a little easier for business owners to pay their business taxes, pay the business license fees online instead of having to download it and bring it in the office. Make it so you can track your account online, may be helpful for a lot of folks."
His opponent, fellow Democrat Jonathan Stevens, released a statement welcoming Divers to the race.
"I expect this campaign to be a spirited, friendly competition, and I think all Charlottesville Democrats around the city would agree that there is no place in our party for negative attacks on candidates or their idealistic young staffers."
