Area Business Owners Meet for Annual Conference

Sept. 17, 2013

Business owners from our area got together on Tuesday to share their stories and tips for running their businesses.

The Chamber Minority Business Conference was held at the Jefferson School African American Heritage Center in Charlottesville.

The theme for this year’s conference was "Business Growth Through Connections."

Mark Briggs, the owner of Quality Gifts, says networking is one of the keys to running a successful business.

"I want to be able to get my name out there and my products out there and with that, even if I've got to walk through the neighborhoods, meet different people."

Actress and author Daphne Maxwell Reid was the keynote speaker at the event.
