Armed Robbery Reported Around Downtown Mall

Charlottesville police are investigating a reported armed robbery around the Downtown Mall.

Officers say two men were robbed as they were walking in the 200 block of West Main Street around 9:45 PM on Sunday, August 18.

A firearm was reportedly used during the robbery, though no one was injured.

The suspect is described as an African American man, about 5’9” in height and wearing dark clothing. The suspect was last seen running towards Staples on Ridge Street and McIntire Road.
