Arrests Down at Foxfield Races

The Albemarle County Police Department is releasing numbers for arrests made during last weekend's Foxfield Races.

Police report a total of 33 arrests, the majority of which were for drunk in public or underage possession of alcohol. There were also three narcotics arrests, including one felony possession of cocaine.

In addition, 61 traffic tickets were issued, mostly relating to seat belt violations and exceeding passenger loads.

One person was arrested for driving under the influence.

In 2012, 61 people were arrested at Foxfield Races and 37 tickets were issued for traffic offenses.
