State auditors have found internal errors in the Albemarle County Circuit Court Clerk's Office for the fourth consecutive year.
The latest audit shows numerous errors; including a report the office held more than $423,000 that might have qualified for unclaimed property under state code. The audit also says the office failed to request tax set-off refunds, resulting in a potential loss of more than $2,200.
The court clerk tells the Daily Progress that her office has been understaffed since she took office in 2008.
