Some of Charlottesville's shining stars were on stage Saturday hoping to be the next Paramount Idol.
Saturday was audition day for the upcoming competition. A line of hopeful contestants waited outside the Paramount Theater for the chance to sing in front of a panel of music industry experts.
First prize will get you a live show at The Paramount Theater, $1,000 in cash, a career consultation session with Red Light Management and a professionally produced demo at The Sound recording studio.
The competition is still and the audition process was a bit intimidating and unnerving. "I think I just need to work on my nervous level. I was a little bit shaky and I think that's what threw the second judge off a little bit. I just need to be more confident and just go in there and not be nervous. I think that will help me." explained Emma Mahone, who is moving on to the next round.
The live finale show will take place before the season finale of American Idol on Wednesday, May 23rd.
