For some fans, there was never any doubt the 'Hoos would be headed to Omaha.
Devoted fans have been watching their team all season, ready for the moment they could cheer them on to Omaha. And for many of the fans heading into the game that we talked to, there was never any doubt they would make it.
“I think we can do it. If we play like we played last night, hands down we are going to Omaha.”
"Oh we're going to win. It’s in the bag."
"Absolutely. 100 percent."
"I think they're going to do it because our pitching is better and their pitching is not as good. They're not as deep as we are. And we're going to Omaha."
They faced long lines and sunburn, but they weren't going to miss the chance to cheer on their team.
"I got here two hours, two and a half hours early for every game to stand in line, and they let us in two hours early, to set up our seats."
"Here all weekend supporting the ‘Hoos and its been lovely weather, forgot my sunscreen so didn't make that mistake today."
The only question left is which fans are headed to Omaha?
"My brother is going to Omaha...i apparently am still employed and I can’t go to Omaha. That's a shame, that's a shame though. Work sucks... "
And of course, Omaha or not they'll be back next year, waiting in line.
