Bennie Dodd has been a staple on the Charlottesville music scene for decades. He has performed at many places in Charlottesville including churches and fraternity parties.
“It's been really great ride. The way I look at it, I get to play a lot of music and touch a lot of people's lives,” said Dodd. “That's how I measure success. It's just very fulfilling.”
Dodd says likes to play all types of music and is influenced by different artists.
“ I grew up listening to country music and bluegrass music but was influenced by Elvis and the Beatles at an early age,” he said.
Dodd says he likes working with different artists and is always looking for musicians to do collaborations with.
“You know I feel like I've tried my best to do what I can as long as I can as long as I'm able to,” he said.

Great job! I love your segments Tara and I love hearing Bennie Dodd.
I've had the honor of playing with both Bennie and Randy, and can tell you that they both have the rare talent of making everyone playing with them better musicians. Add to that they are both Godly men, and they genuinely make Charlottesville a better place to live.
