It is no surprise CBS19's Dan Schutte and Tara Wheeler love to watch ice hockey. However, what started out as a friendly rivalry, quickly turned into a competition that could only be solved out on the ice.

Most days in the Newsplex all is calm, however under the surface there is a rivalry brewing. CBS19's Dan Schutte and Tara Wheeler are avid ice hockey fans, and both think they have the skills to back up their talk. This week they took their rivalry to the ice to see who was the true master of the sport.
Odds were in favor of Wheeler, who was a goalie in college. However, Schutte proved he had a bit of an old school advantage himself.
"There is no pressure on me, I grew up playing pick up hockey outside, you are the one with everything to prove. If I score on you even once that's a win for the little guy," claimed Schutte.
"I've been thinking, it's become obvious that everything in my hockey career so far has all been about getting me ready to make Dan sweat," responded Wheeler.
And with that , the best of seven shootout began.
Wheeler made the first two shots before Schutte was able to score one for himself.
"Aw that was weak sauce Schutte, one for the rookies," claimed Wheeler.
Schutte did not lose hope and was able to score another goal. He tried for a third, but could not get the puck off the ice.
The score was three to two Wheeler, but Schutte came back and tied up the shootout.
Wheeler won with a final score of 4-3, however Schutte kept a good attitude.
"Well like any good playoff series it comes down to game seven and somebody's got to make a play and unfortunately it was her," said Schutte.
As Wheeler skated off, Schutte geared up for more practice.
