Hundreds came out to Bowling For Kid's Sake, an event to raise money for the Big Brothers, Big Sisters program in Albemarle County.

About 250 people came out to Kegler's Lane off Route 29 for the event, which had people from all over the community come out, including some local celebrities like Dave Koehn, the voice of the Cavaliers, former UVa football standout Herman Moore, UVa Basketball Coach Tony Bennett, and the Newsplex's own Rachel Ryan and Chris Stover.

The Big Brothers, Big Sisters program was able to meet there goal by raising around $32,000.

Teams of 6 or less could come out and enjoy unlimited bowling for 3 hours, prizes were given to the highest scoring time, the first gutter ball, and the best "Dude" impression (from the movie "The Big Lebowski").

Jackie Bright, The Executive Director for the local chapters of Big Brothers, Big Sisters, says the money goes to a great cause.

"We have 127 children on a waiting list who are hoping and praying that they get a big brother or a big sister." says Bright. "So our goal is to really try and recruit volunteers to the event and of course raise the resources we need to make the matches, to sustain the matches."
