The Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport hosted some special visitors Friday morning.

A handful of Black Hawk helicopters made a pit stop at the airport for refueling. Officers also conducted a training mission and flight in the area Friday. They say it prepares crews for their upcoming deployment.

"We transport troops into the battlefield and drop them off or extract troops and take them wherever they need to be," said Pilot Steve Johnson, of the 82nd Airborne Division based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Each Black Hawk has a four person crew which consists of two pilots and two crew chiefs, or a crew chief and a gunner.
