Virginia's Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling is asking his supporters for their political advice on this year's governor's race.

On Thursday, Bolling sent out an email to supporters to get input on whether he should enter as an Independent.

Bolling, who has been affiliated with the Republican party, says he is concerned that the party is headed in the wrong direction.

He also points to recent polls that suggest that more people are interested in an Independent candidate.

"I know how difficult independent campaigns can be, and I know I cannot win without the support of the people who have stood with me over the years - people like you. That's why I'm writing to ask for your advice as I make this difficult decision."

Bolling has stated that he will announce on March 14 if he will launch a campaign.
