HURLEY, Va. (AP) - A public water project in Buchanan County has received a $4.7 million federal grant to extend service to another 267 homes.
The grant will be used to help pay for the fifth phase of the Hurley Regional Water Project. The funding comes from reclamation fees paid by the coal industry.
Gov. Terry McAuliffe says in a news release that the project includes construction of a water storage tank, a pump station, and upgrading and replacing water lines to facilitate future expansions.
