Albemarle County Police are investigating a bizarre shooting near a motel just off Route 29.
No one was injured, but police have charged the suspect with a hefty crime.
Buckingham County resident Terrell Johnson, 27, was arrested around 10 a.m. Tuesday in Scottsville. Police have charged him with discharging a weapon into an occupied building, a Class 4 felony.
Police received a call around 11:45 p.m. Monday for shots fired around the 400-block of Premier Circle in Albemarle County. The Red Carpet Inn and Royal Inn Motel are both located in the 400-block, but police have not confirmed either location as the place where the incident happened.
Evidence collected at the scene, though, led them to arrest Johnson.
County police were scouring the area around the motels Tuesday morning with the K9 unit, trying to find any additional evidence in the case. Police will not say what they were looking for or what they found.
There is no word yet on Johnson's court date.
A Class 4 felony is punishable by between two and 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $100,000.
