A judge has delayed for two years the case of a Radford boy charged with a weapons violation in the accidental shooting of his sister.

Radford Commonwealth's Attorney Chris Rehak tells media outlets that Juvenile and Domestic Relations Judge Robert Viar deferred disposition of the case Wednesday. The case will be monitored by the Department of Social Services and the 10-year-old boy will continue counseling.

Police charged the boy with misdemeanor reckless handling of a firearm after his 14-year-old sister was fatally shot on Aug. 12, 2011.

Rehak says the shooting was an accident.

So...we're putting it off for two years to see if he's up for incarceration at that point? Is that what's going on here? He was 10 for crying out loud. Is the young man not suffering enough for what he (unintentionally) did to his sister?
