CenturyLink, Inc. announces it is expanding its high-speed Internet (HSI) service to residences and businesses in Stanardsville.
The company is working with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and its Connect America Fund (CAF) to help expand broadband availability to the area.
CenturyLink accepted approximately $1.3 million in CAF funds last year to bring broadband to high-cost, rural areas in Virginia.
“We’re excited to be able to bring broadband to approximately 115 local homes and businesses in the Bacon Hollow community in Stanardsville, where high-speed Internet service would not be economically feasible without public-private programs like the FCC’s Connect America Fund,” said Marcus Hill, CenturyLink General Manager for Virginia.
Customers can order service or check service availability in their area by calling CenturyLink at (434) 974-6928 or by visiting the CenturyLink Experience Center at 1240 Seminole Trail in Charlottesville.
