Valentine's Day may be a few days away, but a group of Charlottesville dancers are lacing up their slippers early to celebrate.
The Charlottesville Ballet hosted its second annual Father/Daughter Valentine Dance on Sunday afternoon.
About 90 people came out for the sold-out event to show off their moves and learn some new ones.
"We made cupcakes and we danced and we made cards and we got to eat and it was really fun," said dancer Abigail Brent.
This is the second year the Brent family attended the event.
Organizers say it's a chance for families to connect and bring in the holiday together.
"With our lives being so busy now with so much technology out there, it's nice to have a moment where you can dance with your child and celebrate that relationship," said Sara Clayborne, director of the Charlottesville Academy and co-director of the Charlottesville Ballet.
The Charlottesville Ballet's professional company will give two performances this weekend at Piedmont Virginia Community College. Those are at 8 p.m. on Friday, February 14 and at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15.
