Charlottesville Children Spread Message that "All People Matter"

Friday, February 8, 2013

Some local children responded to the Newtown tragedy by spreading the message that all people matter.

The video, called APM-28, was born in response to the 28 lives lost in the Sandy Hook Elementary and Newtown tragedy.

APM-28 features thirteen Charlottesville kids aged from 3 to 9 years old, who say being helpful and kind can make the world a better place.

The mission of the video is to inspire everyone who sees it.

"I thought, well, let's get some children together, here, right in Charlottesville, that can send the message out throughout the world {of} the importance of picking each other up. That regardless of what color, what gender, where you come from, that you matter," said Charles Alexander, the "All People Matter" creator.

Alexander, or Mr. Alex-zan as he's known, is a Charlottesville native and an inspirational speaker. He was one of the Charlottesville Nine, a group which desegregated Charlottesville schools.
