Charlottesville City Council candidate Bob Fenwick spoke out for small businesses in the Charlottesville area this morning.
He met up with local business owners at the Main Street Arena to discuss how he plans to be a voice for small businesses if elected to city council.
Fenwick believes that small businesses provide local jobs and that the money they generate mostly stays in the community.
"Small business is not easy, so it is important that someone on city council understands this and can make the case for small business," says Fenwick.
The owner of the Great Harvest Bread Company Matt Monson also came out to show his support for Fenwick.
"I appreciate that Bob understands these things and has been sharing that with the rest of the community," says Monson.
"Commerce and small business really has a lot to do with making Charlottesville as distinct community and neighborhood, where people can enjoy the businesses that make us stand out from other communities," says Happy Cook owner Steve Belcher.
Fenwick believes that if businesses, both big and small work together, then it can go a long way to maximize revenues for the businesses and the city.
