The new Exxon gas station on Rt.29 had hundreds of people feeling relieved this morning. They were getting gas for they a dollar 99 a gallon.
That price is about half of what people paying at the pump around the country.
Cars were lined up down the street trying to get into the lot and police were out to make sure things didn't get too out of hand.
But Tiger Fuel Company representatives were making sure everything ran smoothly.
“We just wanted to have an event like this to help get people on the lot with the dollar ninety-nine gas and we're handing out these free car wash coupons.” Says Gordon Sutton of Tiger Fuel Company
“Normally it cost me about 75 to 80 bucks to fill my car,” says gas station customer David Utz. “Today I'm expecting it to be about 40 hopefully.”
Today's special occasion gave people a glimpse of the past because a gallon of gas hasn't been that low since two thousand five. Now prices are back to about three dollars and sixty-nine cents a gallon.
