Charlottesville's first electric car charging station has opened on the 2nd floor the Central Grounds Parking Garage on UVa Grounds. UVa fourth-year Kyle Smalkowski lead the effort to get the station installed, something he started working on two years ago.

The station will be publicly accessible, Smalkowski hope that making station available will encourage more people to buy energy efficient cars.

"we really wanted to help provide a much needed infrastructure resource that prospective electric vehicle owners could utilize here in the Charlottesville area." said Smalkowski.
