Charlottesville Group Protests Tax Day

April 15, 2013

In Charlottesville, a group of people gathered on the downtown mall to protest how tax dollars are being spent in this country.

"Virginia Organizing" wants more money to be spent on schools, health care, and social programs and less money spent on the military.

They said America spends way more on defense when compared other countries.

Dave Redding, Virginia Organizing Volunteer, said, "We're number one and then you could add up all the numbers for the next 14 nations and it would just equal what we're spending. So, we're spending a tremendous amount of money on equipment that many people don't feel that we need."

The group also calls for fewer tax breaks for large corporations.
