A wreck Thursday night on Interstate 64 killed one man. Virginia State Police have identified the victim as Trevis H. Johnson, 28, of Charlottesville.
Shortly after 9pm, police were called to the westbound lanes of I-64 just east of the 5th Street exit in Albemarle County.
According to a preliminary investigation, a 1994 Cadillac Sedan DeVille was traveling eastbound on I-64 when the vehicle ran off the road and into the median. The car then crossed over both westbound lanes, struck an embankment and flipped onto the driver's side door. The car also caught fire.
Police say speed was not a factor in the crash and it is undetermined if alcohol was a factor.
