Charlottesville Mayor Satyendra Huja delivered an optimistic State of the City address at the first city council meeting of 2013 on Monday night.
Huja touted the city's AAA bond rating and its list of achievements, everything from being named the most walkable city in the country to one of the top 10 beer cities.
He also explained to the audience and fellow councilors the advancements the city made in 2012 as part of the 2025 Vision, a list of goals for the city to reach by that year. Some of the accomplishments he mentioned were attracting new business and taking part in green initiatives.
Looking forward to 2013, Huja said residents will see a number of new initiatives from the city, including a new comprehensive plan and an improved transit system.
