Charlottesville Police are investigating a stabbing that took place early Thursday morning on the 1100 block of 5th Street Extended.
Police say a domestic dispute between a father and son led to the stabbing.
According to police, a father and mother were on their way to the UVa. Medical Center for an unrelated issue when their 19 year-old son got into an argument with his 51 year-old father.
Police say the son stabbed his father in the lower abdomen with a pocketknife.
The family drove the father to the Medical Center, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
