Charlottesville Police Investigating Vandalism of Statue

April 1, 2014

A famous Charlottesville statue was vandalized at some point overnight Monday.

The statue of General Robert E. Lee in Lee Park was painted with the letters "JBL" in black paint. The sign in front of the statue was also vandalized.

Charlottesville Police aren't saying if they know what the letters mean. Officials say they got the report of vandalism Tuesday morning, and they are investigating.
