The Charlottesville Police Foundation (CPF) is trying to raise funds for a new police dog.
The Charlottesville Police Department has one dog, Leo, but needs another one to work the critical evening and weekend shifts.
The highly trained K9's detect narcotics, track suspects and evidence, as well as apprehend violent criminals.
The CPF hopes to raise a total of $12,000 by June 15.
