The city of Charlottesville is planning for a 'Celebration' that will last throughout the years.
Charlottesville will be preparing for Kool and the Gang to perform. The musical group is the headlining act of a Grand Gala Celebration marking Charlottesville's 250th birthday at the John Paul Jones Arena.
Tickets for the event were still available Saturday, and people can still purchase them on the day of the event.
"We wanted just a time where we could sit down with friends and neighbors and look back on the year and have a good time," said Ric Barrick, coordinator of the Celebrate! 250 events. "So we think we're going to do that tomorrow night."
Doors to the John Paul Jones Arena open at 5:30 p.m., and Kool and the Gang are expected to take the stage at 8 p.m.
