A Charlottesville restaurant hosted a Mardi Gras celebration.
Fellini's #9 restaurant threw a party Tuesday night. The bands Jazz Rascals and Jolie Fille played festive music and jugglers juggled fire on the street outside. Fellini's also offered Cajun food and drink specials on hurricanes and daiquiris.
Some revelers told us what they want to give up when Lent began.
"I usually give up chocolate but that's always such a struggle. So, I was thinking about trying to do something positive this year, like trying to do something positive every day instead of giving something up," said Julia Toro.
"I'd like to see the world give up this fighting and oppression that we're in. We all really need to just come together," said Jessica Juliano.
One customer wanted to give up the winter weather.
"Getting out of the cold here. I mean, we're in March now. I'd like to put it behind us," said Stuart Salmon, who came out to see the jugglers.
Those who came out did not have to bring a costume: Fellini's had beads and costumes.
