Charlottesville Store the Target of Armed Robbery

Charlottesville Police are investigating an armed robbery at a local convenience store.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Food Master on the 300 block of Ridge Street near the intersection with Monticello Avenue.

Police say a man entered the Food Master and showed an employee a gun. The suspect is only described as a man in his 20s.

The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and ran toward Fifth Street. No one was injured.

Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 434-977-4000.
