People had the chance to hear from the candidates for Charlottesville treasurer before the upcoming special election.
The two men running for city treasurer spoke at a forum hosted by the Jefferson Area Tea Party on Thursday night.
The event featured panel and audience questions. The candidates talked about transparency, retirement accounts, the stormwater fee, and taxes, and why he is the man for the job.
"I think I bring to the table my experience and my knowledge of the office, and what the office does, and I'll really be able to hit the ground running with the things I want to do," said Jason Vandever, the Democratic treasurer candidate.
"It's the independence. I can afford to let people know what's going on. I can make transparency happen," said John Pfaltz, the Independent treasurer candidate.
The city treasurer special election is this Tuesday, April 2nd.
