The Jefferson Trail Treatment Center for Children announced Wednesday its program will be shutting down, effective Feb. 24.
The center, which treats teens suffering from substance abuse, is located on Arlington Boulevard in Charlottesville. However, that property has been sold and the building is set to be demolished.
The center's CEO sent CBS19 the following statement:
"Jefferson Trail is proud to have served this community. There are hundreds of adolescents who have received high quality behavioral treatment services and have had their lives dramatically improved as a result of the efforts of the dedicated individuals from the area who work at the treatment center."
The center's website, JeffersonTrail.com, redirects to Universal Health Services, Inc., UHSinc.com.

The comments were rejected because they included the names of people said to be employees or former employees of the center. They also included allegations that would be slanderous if false and were far from the scope of the original story. Jim the Newsplex News Director
I know that 5 other people commented on this article so why did you not print it. It wasn't against any of your rules. The place was evil to say the least. How about it Newsplex Jim?
Its unfortunate that the landlord did not even give the facility a chance to bid on the property or even let them know it was for sale. The landlord already has millions, but that isn't enough...so he is ripping children out of treatment. I feel sorry for the employees and the children. Sad.
