Firefighters are trying to figure out how a fire started Sunday afternoon after thick smoke rose from a house on Charlton Avenue in Charlottesville.
No one was hurt, but because of the massive amount of debris, firefighters could not find the cause of the fire. They expect the home to be a complete loss.
It began around noon and firefighters didn't clear the scene until 4 p.m.
The people who lived in the house say they are able to stay somewhere else temporarily, but the Red Cross is already in touch with the families about getting more help.
